Even now that most have been gut wrenching to see the devastasion done to so much.
That shows how much heat there was on that dark day.
Are they taking away all the steel to scrap or are they keeping anything of sentimental value.

Swishy - The weeds and greenery will come back in time, it just takes a while. There's a good coating of soot and ash that is inhibiting growth, along with the cold. The seed base has probably been reduced a bit, but the deeper seeds are still there. They are bloody hardy, most of them. Wait until Spring, and you'll see a lot of greenery. I see the trees are coming back already.
It sure is devastating to see the results of a fire. After having had a house burn down, that was no fault of mine (power company fault), it breaks ya heart to go through stuff that you enjoyed possessing, and see it ruined. It just makes you realise that material possessions are very temporary .. in a lot of cases they are replaceable .. and in the case of irreplaceable items .. you need to get fire protection for them.
Important documents and photos are crucial items for fire protection preservation. None of us take any notice of them while they're just lying around .. but when they're gone, you really miss them, I tell ya.
After a severe fire loss, you learn that there's more important things than material possessions. They are, in order .. good health, good family, and good friends. A severe fire loss makes you realise that people are more important than material items and dollars.
