Wallan & Kilmore bypass (Vic.)

VicRoads has announced plans to bypass Wallan and Kilmore. When Hume Fwy was opened, the old Hume became Northern Hwy, to Echuca. Traffic will stay on the freeway until an interchange south of Kilmore, then will link to the current Northern & Old Hume junction north-east of Kilmore. There is a lot of reading at the website, and links to lots of diagrams and maps as the three possible routes go through environmental impact and public comment.

Kilmore is close to the metropolitan fringe and experiencing rapid growth with its population forecast to reach approximately 11 700 by 2031, up from around 7000 in 2011. Wallan is now within Melbourne

FFS. Haven't they sorted out the options yet? This has been going on for years, but the latest brochure says that they really have NFI what to do.

Hopefully it's not the same crew organising another Murray river xing at Echuca
