Dave the area i was slashing is not in the photos. There is about 8-10 acres of grass area/carpark.
Cant afford a new ride , have to still fix the old ones that i have got.

What u mean work dried up with Kevin 07's stimulus package we are all meant to have survived the R word. HAHAHA.
We are in the real word and i think things are going to get really tuff in the next 2-3 months.
Swishy there is no harm in dreaming.

Gday SL34
I was looking at the pics from that Auction site.
Please tell me the Oz name is for the two trailers at the top of the set, I am guessing 'LadyLegs' or 'CrocJaw' or something similar ?
I have never seen a trailer like it before.
There are many 'trombone' extending trailers over here, but I have never seen a variable width one before.
Please explain the purpose.
Are they used for carrying boats or something ?
Oh yes, and please confirm 'slashing' translates as grass cutting as I dont think it means the same as in the UK ? (I hope not anyway)
Cheers

Hi Roland,it`s a "Swing Wing" Widening Float, they use them carting anything heavy, like Excavators,Dozers, etc. In the pics one is widened, and the other is closed.Slashing is indeed cutting the grass.

Thanks for the reply.
I have only ever seen a swing wing before on a fighter plane.
I am pleased about the Oz meaning of Slashing.
Cheers

the reason for the width is:
the Australian bridge formulas allow more weight as U go wider
providing the tyre capacity aint x ceeded
Drake twaz the original designer of the swing wing float
but me thinks after 'X' amount of years the patent xpires n then open slather for all
(the following Animation is the amount the RSend can gross @ different widths)

Well mate, thank you for the high tech explanatory animation gizmo.
I was not aware that you had special regulations for bridges.
The only bridge regs I have ever seen are :-
1. No vehicles over 7.5 tonnes gvw
2. Only one artic at a time.
3. No high sided vehicles at all.
I must say it looks much safer than seeing wide tracked vehicles being carried with most of the track supported on fresh air, which is very common over here .
I've just had a butchers at the site..
Mr Drake has some heavy kit on there.
Cheers
