Interesting photo Lang.
Those Mini's are 40mm longer than a Waratah (the latest Sydney passenger cars) is wide so not as big a load as it looks.
Well over acceptable road width for a devisable load.
My guess is the trailer had to be around 11 metres long.

How did the truck and load cope with the trip?
Back when I worked for a rail car manufacturer, they won a contract for some Westrail suburban units.
Due to the gauge problems, we had to swap them onto slave bogies for the trip across, they were ordinary goods wagon sprung bogies.
By the time the units arrived, all sorts of items had shaken loose. Really big stuff like aircon units, brake compressors etc that were on rubber mounts.
First thought was they'd been pinched when parked up at a siding but gangers reported of these big items on the side of the track, totally destroyed.
