Swishy,
Why stop at half a doz? Why not put 'em on steel rails with gentle gradients and tow 20 or fifty together?
No, wait, that has been done before by snailways. Have to run it by private enterprise as the thing that stuffed up the Government system was two days queuing at each end combined with seven days Melb/Sydney.
Keeps them out of the way of cars, and cars away from them, as well.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

they are using the A-doubles (or road trains) on the tomato harvest around echuca at the moment under permits. They carry 4 2o ft bins instead of 3 on the b-doubles, This is a 33% increase in loading per truck

Having lived through a pandemic I now understand all the painting of fat people on couches!

Funny place Victoria, recall us trialling 4 axle dog trailers here in 1996.
Visited Broome and saw an 8 wheel Mack pulling three of them with
side tippers into town on road construction. Managed the corners no
worries. Joke of the year. Paul.

I have come to the conclusion that an increasing percentage of car drivers are of this opinion.

Dirty trucks causing car accidents, get them off the road. Stupid bike riders getting hit by cars, get them off the road. Roads should be for and only for cars.
