Thank you all, a couple of things there we had not considered at all. I will set the mechanics chasing. (mechanics being sons, who will greatly appreciate the advice :)

Broken down farmer
CW41 Tipper, Cw41 Beavertail, Cw41 8 wheeler, CWA45 + Dog + Tag, Volvo F724, Mercedes 1424 Tautliner, CK Single Drive Prime Mover. 1982 Hino Bus converted to motorhome.

In the mid 80s they started putting Cummins motors in the big UDs to sell them ...think UD in Japan said ..no more....This may have no relevance ,but the sandblasters had a big Hino ,and it seemed to get nowhere ,I filled the injector pump sump up with oil ,improved the performance no end......This will only apply if the pump isnt engine oil lubed.
