MrsMackPaul,
Many thanks for the information and pictures of the museums in Geraldine. I have added the town to my bucket list. I am particularly impressed by the two 1929 Chevs. The green truck is the LQ 30 CWT and the brown/tan one is an AC model car, or a light commercial built on the car chassis. (like mine) I would like the names or addresses of the two museums.
Bluey60, I will check on camper prices Christchurch to Auckland but I expect it will be seasonal. I may well be there at the right time, near the end of winter.
Lang, Thank you for the import info. It looks frightening.

I will have to work hard at finding scenic places because my Wife says she doesn't want to spend the whole trip looking at museums and old trucks. I can't understand why?

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

I might have to suggest a mud bath at Rotorua or somewhere. When we were in Rotorua several years ago, we went in a hot pool supposedly headed by geothermal activity and were soon joined by a bus load of middle-aged Japanese ladies who swam in their corsets.
Never again.
