Just to let everyone know. Be careful if you get a window coming up saying to update your Microsoft Anti Virus. A few people I know have opened up this window and good-bye computer, my daughter included. I run Norton and fortunately this notified me it was a virus (12 times in one day) Be warned.

I would be suspicious of anything that says update microsoft anti virus.

As far as I know microsoft do not have a anti virus software!

Microsoft has a firewall and a product called windows defender. neither of these are virus software. The closest is windows defender which just looks for suspicious software against a list. it is not proactive.

There are freeware virus detection software. But in the relams of anti virus and firewall protection you must use the good stuff. I have been using Nortons internet security at home for many years. And also use it at work!

So far no problems!

Ok I stand corrected.

Microsoft did have a anti virus product! ( see:- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MSAV ) However it was discontinued in 1996! So again as ray indicates don't use it as your computer won't like you!
