Roland,

I have no idea where the RHD KWs in the pic went to but the LHD ones Foden built were mostly exported to Israel. Have a look at this promo film by the Israeli Foden/KW agency:

www.youtube.com/user/ItsiKW900#p/a/u/0/scX6bs8Mi60

The road train KW was a one off, the company eventually decided on using another PACCAR product (DAF).

Some of these KWs and Fodens are still at work in Israel.

See also another discussion on BLB here (and there's a Magirus-Deutz in there somewhere ;)):

Cheers,

T

PS: Flat screen T800 could well be "English"

This is the "real" thing though. Yes it's an 8x4 with a three-axled semi-trailer. Until 2005, you could have grossed 60T legally with such a combination, hence lots of Kiwi looking combos on the roads there.

Pics about a week old and from here: i.start.co.il/groups/kenworth/forum/t/3320.aspx?PageIndex=43 taken by a forum member during his daily travels...

Hi Tatra

I have looked a bit further down the BLB page and another post confirms that the RHD models were built in '86 with Cummins N14/ Allison Auto driveline.
They were made for Mobil Oil Indonesia.

They have to be the biggest trucks to come out of that factory ? :D

Thats interesting about the use of Magirus Hub Reduction axles. Also New to me !

Swishy,

That's interesting - have you been aware of this (full-size pic here: ccmv.fotopic.net/p56429027.html )?

That "Foden" was a KW L707 which PACCAR wanted to offer for sale to municipalities in the UK, but there were no takers and I remember reading something about it being scrapped. LHD indicates a US built one...

Cheers,

T

Geez...never knew the poms had a go at using the L700 cab. Here in Aus there were two types/versions of the L series.......the L700 which had single round headlights(see my pic Teddles posted)...and the updated version....the L710 which can be spotted by the twin square headlights.....amongst other slight improvements.

That cab has its origins in the USA as the PD series (1970's) Kenworth and also can be found on Peterbilts......the 320 series I think.

You might Laugh at me because I'm different, I laugh at you because you're all the same
