Gate pockets

Is there a standard spacing for the pockets for standing trailer gates in? I am faced with either welding on extra pockets to suit some gates I have bought or change the tongues on the gates.

no standard pockets every brand has there own spacings

It's definetely easier to change the gate tongues..
9" grinder and welder...Too easy.

i have to admit..that info was gathered this very week...
The particalar person i called in melbourne, was less than helpful...so i headed off on a mission!
I also had the need for some correct info on gates, as i am building a dropdeck at the moment and would like to 'prepare' it for gates should the need arise..
near enough, most times isn't good enough
