Name for 'company owned' trailer brakes? was created by
A while back a scallywag was telling me that to save on brake wear in his prime mover he always used the trailer hand piece to apply the brakes on the trailer (as he didn't own the trailer and therefore didn't have to replace the drums/shoes!)
He had a name for it which I can't remember (it was an amusing one) Can anyone remember what it was called?
-Stu
PS... Anyone want to lend me a trailer?

Yeah the subbie brake. You can always tell when a subbie has been towing a trailer

Over this side of the ditch it's called the OD's brake. What you call "subbies" are usually called ODs (owner-drivers) here.
