Now this is the good bit - these pallets were in a bloody VAN!!
Ol mate is not the type to aggravate our fine fine collectors so just said " thanks ".
He didn't even " load " the truck.
Just an empty fridge van with 5 MT Cheps against the front wall.
As I mentioned... PATHETIC!!

G'day all.
Not truck related but it's in the no common sense category,
We had a flood situation in town a while back and the water was entering homes.
One poor bugger had water flowing through his house 8" deep, down the road was a guy from the local water authority, the home owner asked him if he could open the gate on the irrigation channel so the water could get away.
The guy said I'll have to get permission from HQ.
The owner red in the face with anger said, I've got some F%$#@ dynamite in the shed, STUFF HQ.
Someone opened the channel during the night but no one knows who.

Hmmm ... what a small world ... I was driving the red Hilux in the photo of Sunday's burn in Alice! Seven of us Darwin volunteer firies went south to help 'em out, and did all the burning on the east side of Alice to protect the town.

Must be Transport Inspector thing that isn't limited to N.T. There were a lot of similar incidents during the floods and clean up in Queensland. Farmers getting booked for basically going about thier own business, tipper drivers getting booked for silly things etc. I heard of one incident where a farmer was in a boat was told by the SES to go home before he got himself in trouble, minutes later the SES was in a spot of bother themselves due to a bit "misjudjment" and the farmer rescued them. You could probobly quite rightly blame the Transport Inspectors involved, but I think there must be a fair bit of pressure from above for them to act this way, though no doubt the government will deny this.

It is a small world Bugly. Our daughter lives further out on Larapinta Drive on the western side of Alice and she rang the other night to say that the fires were coming right into the outskirts of the town from the west, hence my interest in what is happening there.

Happens up here too, local bloke got booked for having a shovel in the back of his ute, that's in, not on.
I think they can get you for loose "stuff" on the dashboard too, it's just plain crazy in my book.

how about we stop right there and try not to get bogged down in negativity...
