Having a bad week at the moment.
The mighty 1418 did an outer wheel bearing last week. As the bearing completely went it sized onto the axle which snapped and went into the diff which in turn destroyed itself and the housing.
The start of this week has been even worst. I had my uncle driving the skid steer with mulcher on it while I was trying to organise another truck.
Unfortunately the thermostat went blowing all the coolant out which wouldn't have been too bad but old uncle not being used to the machine didn't see the engine low water warning light until the engine stopped.
The turbo Perkins didn't fare well from the overheating and now has a bad knock and requires a $8000 rebuild.
To pay for the rebuild I have sold the 1418 to family friend who is going to use it for parts to keep his grain trucks going.
I'm now left having to pay $2:20 a loaded kilometre to float the machine around which is getting expensive on short jobs.
So does anyone know of, or have, or could recommend a truck to rent.
Must be able to carry six tonne, and carry a skid steer 3.7m long.
Cheaper the better.
