Do you have a particular number that you are looking at?

Or even which series of ACCO you are interested in?

Its a 1830c 1978 model.
Am I right in saying the last letter is the series build as in the later letter the newer it is?
But what is the other numbers 1830, 1850 and 2350 type numbers?

The letter represents the series, just roughly A is 72 to 77 then B 77 to 80, then C 80 to 85, then D 85 to 92 and finally ACCO E from 92 onwards. For the type number generally the higher the heavier truck is but there are many exceptions here. eg when a truck gets a lazy axle fitted, goes from 8 to 12 tonner but keeps the original type number.

The third number indicates which motor is fitted.

XX10 - Petrol
XX30 - Standard diesel
XX50 - Cummins/GM

The last number is a 2 when supplied as a twin steer.

V8Ian, I like your logic with the engine numbers, but where does 1820/ 1840 fit in with Donks???

And just for interest I have an advert right beside me that says ACCO now goes 30 ways minute size print and no scanner so translated to

1950 twin steer bogie drive mixer or single steer bogie drive tipper or single sngle prime mover all cummins power.

1820 4 x 2 gvw 28250 lb or 46000 lb (43500 with diesel)

and 1840 series same specs as the 1950 above....

they didnt want to make it easy....

and from what I have seen the C series seem to be all badged C1800 or C1900 though I think I recall some alternative in the 2000's

Atkipete, we need your expertise here mate. 8-)
