There is a difference as Detective already pointed out on the roof light spacings on the show truck.Could they have been repositioned when the sunvisor was fitted???? Maybe Fortunate Son could go out and see if there is any evidence of this.... Cheers James.

Slight topic variac Notice that a lot of those trucks share the same bull bar layout. Does anyone have any photos of Whites with tht type of bar that they could post over there onthe White photos

The Autocar that was on the front cover of TL and later went to Campbells was new to Ivan Weiss,Northern Transport,Alice Springs.NT ran in that yellow colour for a number of years and then painted it their blue and white about 1981ish.

1 flood light on back of sleeper appears same in pictures 2 and 3
2 I cant imagine to many auto cars of same era with vinyl wood grain
3 also same apply's to red and white truck
4of all the photo's they appear to be only trucks with same type of fuel tank brackets and tank heights
5 same dents in cow catcher and same style of bar
6 and as for those roof lights angle of shot ?
7 only trucks in photos with airhorns in same spot
8 also same battery box
Any way what would I know just one big wild ass guessing game
plus a whole heap more if we look hard enough like playing weres Wally with the kids

Hi, if someoone would give me keyboard lessons, instead of pissing in my ear, you might get quicker reply. The Autocar was Ivan Wiess, tradedin on a Mack then sold to Campbell L/L. The sleeper cab sitting on the ground, rusted away. All the cab very badly rusted. Double chassis rails eaten away. Its parked 10kms from the ocean. Has 5x4 spicer- 56,000lbs diffs massive 6 rod susp.yesterday I showed picture of the working truck to the ex driver, the job was 3 truckloads of crusher from Mt. Foster N.S.W to S.A. Photo at Hermidale roadhouse nsw. What it didnt show was 1418 and trailer connected to the rear of autocar float because it was too slow. The autocar was sold to current owner early 90's because turning circle was larger than most roundabouts. I have no info prior to campbell purchase. It is for sale about 6 times its value. The sleeper on the ground looks different to the truck show one.
