Dodgeydude is right - Kaltjiti aka Fregon, close enough. On the APY Lands
The yards and bore are about 20kms north on the road to Umuwa.
I'm told that Double Tank bore (pictured) goes back to the time when sheep were shepherded by the local Anangu people i.e. brought into yards each night. Originally there were two squatters tanks and the road ran between them. The road has been realigned and only one of the original tank remains.
The main yards were built in the early 70's as part of the BTEC program. Good yards that will hold 500 cattle but very difficult yards to work in for a number of reasons.
The adjacent Double Tank paddock is now a holding paddock for camels, wild horses and odds and sods cattle. The underground water is absolutely pristine and is probably replenished by Ernabella creek.
We had cattle in the paddock for a couple of years and they are some of our cattle in the background of the photo.

jogged the memory a bit there. Some time ago I had considered working with APY so did a fair bit of research and remembered the Army doing some work there and the locals developing an industry with the camels.
Anyhoo, this might ring a bell with someone, that little bloke is not me but I reckon I had just got my licence and was on tour with my CB175 Honda.

Looks like the most cars in Yunta at one time ever. Had many a good meal in the Shell over the years until it closed.
