photos is taken from Mowbray National Park looking over Mossman, Newelland Cooya Beach possibly from the Mossman Mount, Molloy Road Lookout.

doing a bit of a 'Roderick' here, I am not exactly sure where this place is located but I know the general area by the photos taken before and after.

I had a major computer crash; I'm on my laptop with the unbelievably-bad Windows 10: 'We will do all your thinking for you', and then the robot is programmed badly.
Looking at the earlier thread, I interpret that the correct answer was Central Hotel, Winton, burnt down in 1982.
I had gone straight for westernQueensland, and rejected Barcaldine, St George, Thallon and Winton.
I had been to Winton in 1968, but the only pub which I photographed was Shire of Gregory.

I had a more recent photo of the other survivor.

Top of head, I suspect that the smothered roadhouse is Marla(Marla Bore), Stuart Hwy. However, that would have appeared in countless flickr photos, and it doesn't. The large modern roadhouse does, signed Marla Bar. My 1978 photos of Marla aren't printed.
