Guess n the earl eye ones were solid rubber wheels
n the L8R ones run n on Nooo matic tars

AB = 51,613

Wot would B the go n price fir one of them ol Mack AC?

Hi swishy, few were for sale & all in about the same nic for under 5k, by the time you took it for a swim you would,nt get much change out of 15k landed.Was just surprised there were so many still out there.But in the states there were heaps of most things i thought were pretty rare.Can,t wait to get back there. :o :D :D ;)

And here we have the full Mack/Steam Shovel (clam-shell bucket) operation in real life. The ride must have been pretty rough as the truck does not bounce one millimetre as 1,500kg of dirt is dropped in the back!

lots of machinery tada is referred to az a
Steam Shovel or Steam roller etc
evn wen they B not steam but most likely diesel powered

the above pic is called a face shovel Az in workin in the face of a pit where it can level n clean the work floor area as well az load a bucet full into a tippr etc

A Backactor is the type th@ U drag the bucket in as U dig a trench etc

A Clamshell is lowered over the side of a barge n lowered to the bottom n the clams grabs a bite of wotevr n then can haul the clam shell bucket up n deposit the goods else where

What is a dragline when they take off the drag bucket and put on a clamshell does it just become a crane?

Most of the canals on the Gold Coast which were not built with sand pumping dredges were done by these clam-shell buckets. Even many pumped ones got their final underwater profiles from land based clamshell cranes.

Fascinating watching them work as they can throw the bucket amazing distances and are as accurate as a fly fisherman. I will see if I can find footage of them at work.

Here is a drag line bucket on its way to clean out a few creeks and dams.
