Looking at buying a C1800 butterbox depending on how much it's gonna cost to tilt tray it the 150 or so km from where it is to my place. Does anyone know roughly the tare weight of a Butterbox with roughly 20' tray, and outer width of the widest wheels. Also where I could find more info as well would help.

Cheers people! :)

What's left of the AACO 182 here, has a tare weight of 4220kg on the door. It had a Freighter 18' timber floor tray, and measures 2370mm across the 9.00x20 drive tyres.

Interesting, they're obviously a heavier truck than their bonneted brother - my CD1820 tares at 3.8 with an 18' tray

I thought the same, our bonneted C1820 tares at 3.67t with a homemade 15' timber floor tray. There is definitely a lot more chassis on the AACO 182, when comparing between the two trucks we have here though.

JBRan, sorry I didn't reply sooner, my mighty ACCO tares at 5.500 with 6.2m tray. (Well it did when it was registered in 1970... not been weighed since.. Vicroads renewed it off the old rego certificate... gap of 15 years).
Wheel base width front and rear are the same at 8 ft.

Anything else, just ask...

And it is a good fun truck to play with ;).... good luck.

my AACO 180D last time when I was over a weighbridge with a load of scrap, showed around 5000kg you can take a bit off for the driver/tools/chains/winch eta, say 4800kg. 7 ton is a good legal load but I know it has had 5 extra ::)
