The 6 cylinder diesel engine in the K series was a traditional vertical style of engine with an inline injection pump. I think it was just a 6 cylinder version of the 4 cylinder diesel engine in Power Major and Super Major Fordson tractors. I think it may have been what is called the 590E motor.

The 6 cylinder Diesel engine in the D Series Ford Trucks was a 'sloper'. leaning to the left. There were 360 cubic inch and 380 cubic inch versions. The early ones had a rotary injection pump. I think there were quite a few differences between the vertical and sloper motors.

I had a 1967 D800 D Series truck, a Power Major and a Super Major Fordson Tractor.

I think the Sputnik version were in production from 57 onwards.

Was in Edithburgh (SA) last week and on the wall of a cafe was a photo of a restored TT NC with rego SB78DF.
If anyone knows who owns that, could they contact me please.

Hi Rod. I might be putting 2+2 together and getting 5, but i wonder if the photo you saw was taken when the SA branch of the HCVC held a run on southern yorke peninsula back in 2012? There is a green and white Thames Trader in the first few minutes of a youtube video "HCVC SA Branch 2012 Truck Tour". It may help as a lead with your enquiry.
