Can anyone help

Colin, this sounds like the sort of problems I get with wimmin. But to return to the subject at hand: this is surely (the sleeper) an Aussie built one? The UK ones looked very different. And no, they never had a tilt cab, as amazing as it would have been at that time. Cheers, T

...not too sure if this is a total co-incidence, but I was flicking through an old "Truckin Life" yesterday and someone had made a model of a Scammell Crusader with that small sleeper ledge, painted red, with the name "Wide Awake Trucking Co" on the RH door...

....for all intents it looked the same as the one in the pics.....???

I still do not see any images of the Crusader. I have made sure I am logged in, any ideas?

Hi Timo.
Can you please let me know chassis number of your Crusader please. I think it should start with WHV. The number should be on left hand chassis rail near left front wheel.

From the dark side I seem to remember a firm in Paddock Wood in Kent I think the name was Lowe Transport they had a fleet of that type pulled Fridge Semi's into Europe now they might have been Atkinson Borderes but the cab looked the same used to be known as coffin sleepers

Looks like UK sleeper cab, I didn't know any were delivered here by Leyland.
Do you know the wheelbase, it looks as if it may be a long wheelbase. What rear axles does it have, Albion or Maudslay?

Chassis number WHV 52096 was delivered in 1973 with engine number 127081, only 3 later than yours.

What does your dashboard look like? This is an image of one of mine, both my 1973 and 1976 have very similar style.
