Well there you be, I guess we never see much chassis rail in Australia as they are covered up with fuel tanks, those Macks do look good, dont they just

Thanks for finding the specs sheet for the White Pete

Mack really nailed the styling with the R model, they never really got got ride and comfort sorted in the R model but style yes

Great photos as always

They had a assembly plant in Brisbane at one stage, dunno if they had plants elsewhere in Australia

I would be guessing the backends were all Australian made

Greetings. most of that last batch had the owner's name on the cab door. The one Mack with D McB on the pax door was a D G McBride from Darlington. The White 9564 with the now rare as rocking horse s*#@ Gitsham tipper was a P.HM & AM Jordans from Lockleys which is in Sth Aust. Spoke with Nifty today and he claims he's only doing 2 more trips to Brisbane and then that's it. Reckons he has a buyer for his truck and trailer so there is a good chance of catching up before Christmas. Then I should be able to finish the scanning. Yaaah.. I've picked out some for the rivet counters for next week. Till then.

It certainly is rapidly becomming a lost art or talent to be able to tarp up and do it neatly.

I think a big part of the problem is vinyl tarps don't stretch anywhere near as much as cotton canvas so are very hard to get the wrinkles out. I have seen some very nice tarps on Tautliners!

Theoretically (and legally) youd need a EWP to legally tarp a load.......Obviously you lot havent been into a place where you need to post a risk assessment to have rails and posts on the tray of a truck ,or dont take your feet off the ground......The driver from TTs nearly had a fit when I climbed up on the deck to sling up my machines.......Then he kept panicking that I d fall off ......gotta admit,I did step into a hole in the deck without noticing......apparently there for some safety device to slot into.
