39 chev Holden Ute NZ

Hi, I have a 1939 Chevrolet Holden Ute
Very tidy, all complete,
I’d like to put it back on the road in NZ
Was imported to NZ 1995 by previous owner then stored till 2017
Was stored in Australia for 5 years before being sent to NZ
The problem is there was no de rego papers or plates .or ownership papers
So I need any history I can find , of its registration ownership in Australia,
So I can register in NZ

Engine number .R1986970







Any help would be much appreciated

I guess you will have to start with where it was stored in Australia
Can it be traced with the engine number, but which state
