The SMA Antars were powered by Rover Metorite V8 petrol engines. It wasn't until about the Mk 4 version that they got the RR diesel.

Here's the engine and gearbox of the Antar

I think this is one of Vestey's Rotinoff Viscounts, had a Rolls supercharged engine

I most definitely stand to be corrected but I believe that back in the mid sixties Mayne Nicks had Atkinsons powered by RR.

Bob,
I do not know how I got over the hill without ever getting to the top.

I, too, stand to be corrected but I think the Rover Meteorite was a De-tuned Rolls Royce Meteor aircraft engine.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!
