I found this company profile that although it is not your Grandfather, there are some interesting similarities in an an America whose name ends in 'off' coming to Australia and starting a business in waste disposal and in 1985 acquired a business called South West Waste but all in Western Australia and not South Australia.

And i reckon the white and green truck is perhaps a 2152B ACCO, but i can't pick the model of the white and red "Butterbox" ACCO.
