The first B double fridge van in Australia was operated by Norgate tport on the Townsville-Malanda milk run in the early 80s. Drivers had to unhook and go single trailer on the old Palmerston range, didnt seem to be any efficencies at the time.

The first "B" doubles I remember running north out of Brisbane were F&H[fast and heavy].Only the late Russ Hinz would have had early access to the first of "B" doubles in Queensland.Remember watching one go past Matildas at Gympie in the early 80s. about 83-84
