Up until 1997 I was a 'two pack a day' smoker. I tried to quit a few times, but every time I took up the smokes again I smoked a bit heavier than before. One morning I woke up, and knew with absolute certainty that the next smoke was the one that would kill me. It was the worst feeling I had ever had, knowing I was going to die. It scared me that much I haven't had a smoke since.
