So we headed off on the Sunday morning to begin our trip back to California. The crew at the ATHS had organised a road run that went for a couple of hundred miles kinda back the way we had come but instead of heading South from Biggs Junction we kept heading West toward Portland. Some amazing country side.........

We had a great feed there for lunch put on by the ATHS crew. There was so many planes and cars in there, it was phenomenal, I highly recommend any one in that area to have a look. We then saddled up again for the trip to the Hays Truck Museum

So the second part of our tour was to head to the Pacific Northwest Truck Museum in Brooks, Oregon........not the Hays Museum as previously stated :P

We did a bit of a swap around for this leg with me finally getting a ride with Ol Terry in the 51 needle nose Kenworth with a supercharged Cummins and a 5x4 gearbox. What a ride, the coolest engine sound I've heard in a long time 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Terry behind the wheel of his pride and joy. For what its worth, Terry drove the whole trip there and back in the 51. I offered to take over for a while to give him a break. He pi$$ed himself laughing :'(

We arrived at the museum and it was outstanding. This Freightliner was from the mid 60's and was a very low mileage and complete unit. It was one of only ten or so trucks out in the open

[IMG

..........and this old bullnose trailer was absolutely cherry

[IMG

[IMG

...........there were a few full size dioramma's...........

[IMG

...........and then we got to the car shed!!
