Okay, this year I'm living vicariously through anyone who is going! ;) :'(

Are you going and what are you taking?

If Terry Burrowes happens to take his Thornycroft Amazon, can someone please take a pic of her for me? I saw her in bits last Christmas so I reckon she's a goer now.

Terry's Thornycroft Amazon was on the City to Cape run today as its 'maiden voyage'.

It does 28 mph (approx 40 km/h) so any trip will be slow. He got down there without any mechanical dramas which is more than I can say for a lot of other entries

Cheers Bruce. I saw her in the other thread and been meaning to say thanks for posting the pics.

She's a ripper! 40 kmh? Ah well, plenty of time to think and enjoy the scenery when not checking the guages! ;)

the weather is supposed to be mid-20's and fine so that should make for a ripper. Do you want some pics for your ezine?

Yesterday was the biggest event we have had at sandown yet. Based on the number of ticket sales, an educated guess for those we don't charge for (Kids, carer's etc) and exhibitors there would have been about 1500 people present. The Pits carpark area was almost totally full with a little bit of space left but the 'small' area was only abot 1/4 full with about a dozen military vehicles. Another 30 - 40 vehicles would have filled it totally.

Did anyone get a count of the total number of vehicles present?

When I was on the bottom gate a car came to a stop, Dad got out and said "I will take junior in here while you go to the toy sale and do the XMAS Shopping", grabbed his son out of the car and entered the gate before his wife could say no. She swapped sides of the car, giving him a dirt look as she did then headed off to the toy sale further down.

I will have to download my photos off the camera then upload them so they can be shown here. I will send them to Andy then. I don't think I got any of the Thornycroft sorry Andy, The position of the vehicles didn't allow it except whenI glanced across while performing a job. Maybe someone else can help? I took ovver 60 photos concentrating on things that hadn't appeared before.

There was a large number of interstate trucks present this year. To all who made the effort (either local or distant) thank you and I hope you enjoyed yourselves.

some photos.

Firstly an HCVC member brought a Fargo from my wife's uncle. It was brought by her mother and uncle when it was 2 years old and was on the farm until a couple of months ago. Her uncle told us he had sold it and while we were initially disappointed (we had dropped hints) we are glad to see it went to someone who will look after it as we had nowhere to store it under cover nor the resources to do it up.

:) :DWell done Bruce great photo's and a top day had by all. I think it was the best Sandown Show by far and we got close to what the club had at VFL Park years ago. l was happy to see members from interstate and visitors also like Barry from WA. With a bit more help and effort we can only get bigger and better. Thank you to all the members and friends with vehicles. ;)Stephen.
