Think I have it, (and was my first guess?) a Chevy II.

Only ever seen one.

Nope it's a Chevy Nova. When I glanced at it I thought it was a HR Holden but then I had a proper look. Cya Tim ;)

I was going for the mid 60s Vauxhall replacement of the tailfin Velox & Cresta, but it would well have been based on a contemporary Chev.

Near as I can tell, Chevy Nova and Chevy I I are the same thing for different markets.
It didn't take off here because it was too expensive. (so I read)

Basically yes, when I said '62 I was going on the grille - correct B)

However the memory cells stuffed up with the engine size, it should have been the 194 cu in six (or the poor four 153 cu in); the 230 six didn't come until the following year when the Chevy 11 Nova SS was released.

In '62 the lineup was the Chevy II 100, the Chevy II 300 and the Chevy II Nova 400.

The Thornycroft is a Trusty, originally operated by NSW Railways. It then went to a wheat farm near Moree. I spoke to the owner just prior to his clearing sale back in the '90s and he said that they used to load her up to the extent that at the silos they had to take two bites on the weighbridge. It then went to Inverell at which time the joey box was added.
Haven't seen that do-da before but might be able to look it up on a parts list.
Good to see it being used.
