While time consuming, I text them to myself and post what comes back, after I have saved it.

Look at the settings on your phone for saving images/photos at the time when you take the picture. Select a smaller size and a file type of .jpg(JPEG) for general photos which may provide a compression or quality setting that will reduce the size per image/photo saved on your phone which in turn will allow you store more images on your phone before running out of space.
Unless you need to print high resolution or are zooming in for minute details, most images for displaying on phones or screens of computers don't need to have massive dimensions and resolution.
And just remember to change to a larger size if you likely to want to use the image of a higher quality for a printing or special processing.
Uploading .jpg images also allows the site software the ability to reduce the file size further and allow us to store more image. Phones that save photos as .png files can't be compressed either on your phone or by this website when you upload them, meaning we are running out of space storing images 10 times larger than they need to be.
