Log in issues

Been trying to log in for a couple of days. Each time I opened the log in box n touched tge box to write my name tge lot disappeared. Got hete only from home page

On mobile device ("smart" phone/tablet)?  Close apps and try again?

Using smart phone. When you say close apps, what does that mean to an IT dummy please?

When you open something - web browser, photo gallery, camera etc that's an app (short for application). Follow the links to find out how to close them. Top link for andriod (Samsung etc) devices, bottom link if your apple has a bite out of it.

I have to login approximately every 3 days even though I click on remember me, and can only do it at the very end of the page.

I sometimes only last logged in a few hours. Best is 24 hours. It seems there is a lot of variation between members, is there some sort of number of visits retrigger or a remembering or cookies issue with individual computers?

Another annoyance is when you click on the green unread notifications in Forum Latest it does not go to the latest but  half a page back on old read posts necessitating scrolling every time.

I am sure it can be fixed. There is no need in this day and age to say "The car jumps out of top gear but you can drive it perfectly well by just keeping a light pressure on the gear stick"

Today it seems to have remembered who I am.

Yep, but sometimes it stays for a couple of days. No big issue, it happens.
