Strangely enough, in the Great Western State .. the land where trucks are trucks .. and men are men .. and big HP and many trailers, rules .. I've never seen a 12V-71 powered, anything, hauling on the highway ..
However, I must confess, I did once own a Pommy dump truck powered with one. An Aveling Barford, it was a 40-tonner and the 12V-71 was possibly the best part of the truck. I gotta admit, I liked that ole screemer .. pumping out 445HP, she was nearly as quiet and smooth, as the VTA-1710 Cummins' in my big Michigan loaders ..
Baz - You'll be hard-pressed to find any literature on the RS771. I found a couple of pages from a Detroit Power Parade magazine (Vol 24, No 1) about the powering of several makes of "hwy tractors" for hauling doubles in the States .. but even in the States, a 12V-71 Mack would have been a VERY rare sight ..
