My 1950A is on the road....

Hi Guys,

Just completed my first bit of work in the 1950a. Got my shiny new plates yesterday so i'm pretty stoked. All went alright, loaded and dumped three loads without too much prob.

Needed to ask though, on start up im averaging 60 -70 PSI oil pressure. With the hot day and all naturally i'd expect it to come down, but with the last (bigger load) i was averaging 20-22 PSI on idle and 4o - 45 under load. Is this in spec or am in for more strife - lol
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Bono, I don't know if Inter 's are any different but what I've been told and read about building engines, is you should have 10 psi of oil pressure per thousand RPM.
So it sounds fine to me, but others may have different ideas!

thats similer oil pressure to my 361 V8 dodge ..ru running a diesel or V8 inter motor?

nothing wrong with a neuss ..esp when you turbo them my old acco performed will with a little schwitzer turbo (from a neuss powered inter tractor)

Thanks Andy & Kenny. Shes not fast but she'll do me just fine. Had no real trouble carting the load and getting used to that crash box. Got that turbo option i the back of m mind, but i think i'll wait until i rack up some more work.

I was wondering though what sort of mileage i should hope to get?
