Well purchased a new to me R model and a couple of trailers, site unseen, on line a week or more agoand the finally arrived
I'm more than happy with them
A British Mack at that
Needs a new bonnet latch, and one trailer needs a few tyres
Paul

I had 2 of these Macks as a kid.... Gave them to my son years ago... 1 yellow for the flat top... 1 red with a crane to lift the containers off the trailer.... And a 4x2 Berleit (sp) to tow the bottom dump trailer
You might Laugh at me because I'm different, I laugh at you because you're all the same

You was a lucky kid, I never had many toys as a kid, kinda making up for it these days
Mum and Dad always gave us tools from a very early age
I reckon I got a claw hammer when I was maybe 6 or 7
Got a wood hand saw maybe the next year
A screw driver set
Got a 3/8 drive socket set for Christmas one year, I was maybe 10
It was kind of embarrassing as kid in primary school as when each birthday of each kid rolled around they would stand you up the front of class and the class sang happy birthday and you had to tell everyone what you got
I remember I got a pair of overalls for a birthday present, I was pretty embarrassed and wouldn't tell the class what I got
I laugh at how silly I was as a kid
I guess we all do
I can still count all my toys, there wasnt many but we were loved

Not a Mack, but for Christmas when I was 9 years old, I got what I remember as my first "new" present. It was a Yankie semi trailer Seagrave fire ladder appliance, friction powered. It had wind up ladder with extension. The only thing I did to it was to add small brass paper clips to each side to look like mirrors.
I still have it in the original box, now 62 years later.
