Announced today that effective October 1st 2014 Penske Automotive Group will own 100% of MTU Detroit Diesel here in Australia and in New Zealand. PAG did own them back in the period 1997 - 2001.

For those who follow the V8 Supercars Penske have signed up a deal with Dick Johnson Racing which will see Marcus Ambrose racing in Australia. My guess is MTU will be a sponsor but I am not sure what else Penske have planned. I guess we will see as it's announced.

The Penske Western Star and MTU operations are for the Australian distribution. Looking at the current shareholding it seems that Daimler still totally hold the production company (Freightliner as well).
