Be it firearms or V8 engines, the question is not "why should you have them?"
, but "who are you to demand that I justify them?"

Melbourne - Walker Flat (fit gates) - Adelaide (load stuff) - Waikerie - Easter weekend off camping -
Then Pt Agutta - Norseman - Kalgoorlie - Newman - Pt Hedland - Broome.
then the flight home ... Broome Airport ...
"this is your captain, we are having some technical difficulty but we are confident of having it sorted shortly"
Taxi down runway
"this is your captain, our technical bugs seem to have returned but we are confident of having it sorted shortly"
- return to base - Taxi out again - return to base -
"this is your captain, we are still having some technical difficulty and as your safety is our major concern we cannot fly this plane to Perth"
- abandon ship and wait for another plane - board next plane - Perth - (no hope of beating Adelaide curfew, so - Melbourne - Adelaide ... ...

Hi Eddy,
Pretty straight road alot of it but its good to drive on though The gutta to Norseman is all pretty good road.
Certainly alot better than some around...
Broome sunset was a good way to finish the trip.
Thanks for the story.
Basil

Lotsa good road through there for sure.
Actually the best bit of road was between Leonora (North of Newman) and Mt Magnet.

You didnt monitor the fuel usage by any chance?
I take it new owner brought it to cart his toy or is it a working truck? Would love a crack in his toy.

Yeah, fuel; averaged out at 3.1 km / litre. and a best of 3.4 across the Nullabor,
His plan is to transport equipment (fork lifts, EWPs etc), along with some driver training.
The fact that the race truck fits nicely on the tray is, I am assured, mere coincidence
