Training needed, how to get in and out of truck. was created by .RC.
This was in today's local paper, where an appeal was dismissed and some bloke has got $225 000 as essentially his employer never trained him how to get in and out of a truck cab..
Article on it here crlawyers.com.au/newsitems/articles/pers...fall-from-truck.html

Yep I'm well out of all that stuff but from memory if you can fall 1.2M ??? you must fit handrails.
Hence the sprouting of handrails (with kick rails) on excavators, Frannas etc.

It is true about training to get in a cab, I worked for a crowd with several different trucks and to get in one of them, you had to start off with the opposite foot or you would end up backing thru the door

Isn't there/ wasn't there a model of Freightliner that has/ had a full on stair way, complete with horizontal treads to access the cab?
What ever, a fall from such a height is not a "toughen up princess" situation.
Maybe driver access does need a rethink?

Be it firearms or V8 engines, the question is not "why should you have them?"
, but "who are you to demand that I justify them?"

Getting out = Any landing ya can walk away from is a good'n ...
Think it was a Merc I saw recently with a stairway that came out from over the wheel arch as the door opened
