All he would need is warning / red lights on it like the Franners have and in the 60% rule
When you turn a corner it wouldn't be a problem it would be like a bus rear overhang (but high and in the centre)

I think the ACCO is legal, even without a trailer. Frannas have far more frontal over hang.

It's all good until something goes wrong, and then Mr Insurance doesn't want to be your friend anymore. These fixed boom cranes still need to be cradled or locked.

Franna's are a whole different beast. They are unroadworthy and need a Police permit for that, as well as overloaded and need a Transport Department permit for that ( in QLD anyway ) I'll bet there are many running with only one permit. Once again, Mr Insurance will take your money, but if the you know what hits the fan, then he won't be so friendly in giving money back.
