Fordson Major Question

Have a mate wanting to buy this tractor for small paddock slashing upkeep. He has only got photos and knows nothing about them.

What is the hose? fitting coming up vertically from the Aluminium case on the front of the engine. What is the black fitting just rear of it?

Lang, it's been a while, but the fitting is the bottom end of a broken tacho drive cable and the hose fitting, I don't remember.

Crank case ventilator which has lost its top which had a filter of some sort in it. This, together with a connection to the inlet manifold gave a positive ventilation for the motors like that one with the Mechanical governors. That looks like an early Fordson Major with a Super Major Fuel Pump.
