G'day stevejr, Thanks for the link to the Chamberlain crawler video. Not only did they do it well, but also took the trouble to capture the project on tape for all to see.
Cheers Geoff

The boys had a bit of fun too stringing everyone along too, but it didn't take too long for people to realize it was a Fiat.
I was lucky enough to do some of the machining on it but the credit really goes to the other two boys who spent hours measuring, fitting, re-fitting, welding, grinding, cutting, re-measuring again, etc etc. The attention to detail they have is phenomenal.
May I just add, the majority of it (bar the machining) was built in a dirt floor shed and all welded together with an Arc welder too. Only a few bits of steel were made off site due to not having a sheet metal folder/bender.
Glad you guys like it! It was a few years in the build but worth the wait.

G'day, I saw that Chamberlain crawler at the Murray Bridge NHMA rally in 2009 and the owner was stringing people along saying it was a prototype that never went into commercial production. They had done such a good job of the 'cloning' it was almost believable. I think it lives in the Adelaide Hills somewhere.
