Hi guys,
Sent my carby off via fastway to get a reco and they went and lost the package. It was a stromberg and was on a ih 6-281 engine in a metro step through van 1970. I’ve seen a bunch of strombergs for sale online to replace but they aren’t the same only similar. Does anyone know or can give me what my options to replace are as I really need to get this running again for my business ASAP. I think these strombergs are built specific to the IH engine and possibly old fords and Chevy. There only seems to be Holden reds available. This is really frustrating and could be really expensive if I have to order one from the states etc..

The large throat Stromberg from a Bedford 300 would be ideal. I have used them on a couple of Dodge 230 engines and they work great.

Think they were 1 9/32 throat, anything off a 250 Ford or even the 1 7/32 off a 202 will get you going. The hard part is the base bolt pattern, most of these the bolt spacing is closer than what you will want. As mentioned the Bedford would be an option but possibly a little harder to find.
Cheers Steve
