"Road Hog" rebuild was created by Debo
Back in the late 60's Dad drove this AACO 180 named "Road Hog" delivering fuel.

This truck has always been Dad's favourite truck and my brother and I have always thought it would be great to one day do a replica of it.
This is where this forum comes into play ;), after checking out Geoffa's thread on his fuel truck replica in the fuel delivery tanks thread I mentioned that I would like to do the same. Then luckily Geoffa found me a truck on ebay and both he and Detective encouraged me to just go for it, see below.

Anyway I spoke to the brother and the short story is we did and we now own an AACO! 8-)
So on Saturday the B model went for a run to Birchip to pick up the new toy :)

Thanks Geoffa and Detective, Debo :)

Hi Debo,

Great to hear you were able to get the truck. I am sure you will have lots of enjoyment restoring the old truck as I did. It was a goal of mine that took a while to achieve but I gained immense satisfaction in the end.

Stick with it, it will all be worthwhile when you finish.

Geoff.

...first thing Debo .. DON'T chuck the headlight rims away! ;D ;D ;D.....(or the buckets for that matter)

...they are very, very rare in the fact that they only have three screws holding them on....not like the other 99% of these rims that have four screws....guard them carefully and just clean 'em up...or watch out for the chrome platers' efforts! ;D

....didn't the diesels have that bar grille and the petrols had some kind of mesh one??

....late edit....all squared up now thanks to Atkipete's post in the AACO thread....

.... the jailbar grille was 1961-'64 and the mesh grille AACO was '64-'67
