We have purchased a 1950 Dodge truck/Van, apparently it was a photographic unit for the Herald Weekly Times, we cannot find any information on it all, not one photo of what it looked like originally or anything that looks anything like it, can someone PLEASE help. thanks. We know that it was built by ALF.A MITHCHELL, coach builder in South Melbourne back in the 50's

Is it a truck or a van ? What size is it and what is left of the original bodywork?

Contact the paper mob, they will have pics of it in their archives, and maybe some more useful info. The HWT is now part of News Corp, the Rupert Murdoch group.

Might have even been a TV van, HSV7 was the TV side of their business.

maybe first thing see if it a english (kew built) dodge or a yankee built one

it sounds like a nice unit ..i also like the herald international vans from the late 60s/early 70s

Its a Van, not like a typical panel van tho, much bigger, I would post a pic but not sure how to do it, its all complete except for the glass windows on the sides, just a bit rusty!!!

We think it was built as a normal Dodge in Canada and then ALF A Mithcell Coach builders in South Melbourne custom built it.

PHotos of Stacey and Troy's Dodge.

The truck looks like a Canadian "pilothouse" Dodge maybe 2 or 3 ton.
