G'day 74 Leyland, have you tried Mr Motorparts in Sydney. They have new and secondhand parts for Leyland buses and may be able to help.

The "Government Buses" in Sydney bought a large fleet of Leyland Leopards from the late 1960s onwards. The first batch had manual steering, the second batch had power assisted. They later retrofitted power assist to many of the earlier batch, but I don't know what this entailed. Most of the Leopards from that era are in their last throws as buses so shouldn't be too hard to find parts or complete buses to strip.

Hmm, money hard to come by, eh, 'bout the cheapest way out of it for you, is -- eat more weet-bix.
With them old clunkers, just don't EVER try swingin' on that steerin' wheel, when the front tyres are stationary.
Once you get them rolling, then it's no worries to steer at all, you just got to get used to chasing them from one side of the road to the other.

Put some photos up of your steering box and steering (drag link) etc.
I may? still have a Leopard power steering box, column , ram and drag link.
I am from NSW, so you would have to look at freight costs.
