Yes they are fantastic things to look at, the detail is immense, just stand there for hours and always find some thing to look at.

Well the inter succesfully transported my Marshall! All went well. As this was a first we learnt alot. Probably biggest mistake was I forgot to inflate the rear tyres again. As normally run fairly low as normally empty. Also even though we made the a frame short as posible really the engine needed to come forward more. But for short runs like this not to bad.
Inter certainly knew it was there. But handled it well. Very happy!

G'day JBlair,
The portable looks really good now. It will certainly make the Inter work hard. Great picture!

hi JB
That looks great, tell BC he needs to do my boiler now,
I might see you Sat, If I have time to drop in.
I know of a tractor that needs a load " tinyurl.com/ceke97 ", might be a sight to see at the steam club

Very happy with the results.
Bparo yes you are correct. The issue is as we are pulling it up with the winch mounted on the tray pulling via the a frame means that it doesn't need to be steered. Thus being much safer for every one in both directions.
What we intend to do on Sunday when we pick up the engine (including inflating the rear tyres :-[ ). Will pull the engine all the way onto the tray then put front chains on then take the a-frame off. Then push further onto truck. All I need is about a foot further forward then should ride lot better.
Was very happy when the engine was back on the ground!

C'mon Mr. Blair you just went down to the local Marshall steam engine dealer and bought a new one so it looks like a restored one
My great grandfather had a traction engine made by John Fowler of Leeds England.. it was was rusting away in a paddock out the back of my great Uncles farm in Warwick in Queensland, fortunately it was bought by a gentleman who did a complete resto on it.
I did see her as a goer some 15 years ago , one thing I can't get over is how quiet steam engines are .. that is compared to steam trains for example..
