the 361 truck motor swap wouldnt be that hard ...but the 318-3 truck V8 is a better perfomer

on the 361 the exhaust manifold has a clearance of about 10mm from the steering coloum..they also use a larger pommy made gearbox..they also dont like to rev much over 3200rpm.. so you mite end up with a lower road speed :-X

the 318 uses (like all dodge 5 speeds) a non overdrive box ..but the 318 is the best performer ..also you will have a little more room around the motor to work on

cheers ken

you mite be best to get a truck engine & gearbox ..they are very easy to fit..if you get a car 318 you will then have to play around with flywheel sizes and whatnot

Just watch the gearbox/ bellhousing mount.
Buggers varied the mounting holes slightly throughout the years. I have an International Harvester motor and chassis with an AT4 cab and running gear.
If you are swapping gearbox, bellhousing check the bolt holes first on the crossmember.

If you can't afford a Dodge
