Here are another couple of Whites that he had

This long wheelbase rigid was owned and driven by Als Dad through the 60s

The crane here was built by Al. A couple of photos not on the disc showed it with 'Rocla Tiles' written on the door and darker grey guards. Later on he painted it all yellow and after many years he sold it to Baro Timbers in St Marys in Sydney. They still own the truck and like all good long term owners, they have parked it up out in the open, won't sell it and are letting it slowly rot away. What a shame :(

This is Als 6/53 GM powered R200. I'm not sure what year he bought it or if it was new but I'm sure that he said the GM was already installed.

He sold the truck in the early 70's to a mate ............

............and bought it back after his mate decided he wanted out. Unfortunately he had repainted it grey. The Mack and Mercedes were recent additions.

That looks better Swish. My mate has a WA20 that was at Sandown last year and I think the battery was on one side. They are a boss looking truck. I like your colour scheme 8-)

Al finally got into a Mack when he bought this old girl at 12 months old. He ran this one for a lot of years and apart from a brief encounter with a German, has been loyal to the Mack brand ever since.

A few photos soon after the purchase with some interesting loads. He said that this truck was bullet proof.

Eventually he had it resprayed and signwritten to his standard. He has some great photos in his album of this truck and the first R model shown previously, side by side and looking awesome. Unfortunately I don't have them on the disc but will endeavour to copy the remainder of his collection asap.

Because I got excited earlier and posted the R model photos for Monty, that brings us to the end of the collection. Thanks to those who responded with comments. I hope you all enjoyed them.

Cheers

Bruce

It was my pleasure, I had as much fun posting them as I did looking at them. I said that there were more in his collection and one that I loved (which I hope to copy and show you) is a cabover Kenworth that he bought when a contract he had forced him to urgently buy another truck. It was a very early one with pull down door handles and KENWORTH script on the front (Swishy might know the model) instead of the standard KW bug. It had an 8V/71, was a slimline cab and was still in its Golden Fleece livery - I would love to have found it today.

Thanks again for the positive comments. Monty, I have never had so many winks before ::)
