Got rid of the deezel DST Golf a few years back
found the germans arargant to deal wiff
now in the equivelent Hyundai i30 = Xcellent
Hyundai slightly better on layout but froply Golf bettr car if in prang
but we dun buy cars to prang

I remember being sent to the EPA at Lidcombe (early 80's) with triple SU 202 powered HJ panel van packing shite due to hot dog muffled exhaust. After they had tested it with the sniffer they reckoned it was one of the cleanest cars they had tested in years. Canary removed.[/quote]
RokWIz, yes. Agree always ran triple 1 1/2 SUs on my grey motors 3 and 1/4 inch bore. Set them up properly once and never touch them again. Fantastic performance with economy

Yep no accelerator pumps on the SUs... On the conversation of pollution back in the day on fleet maintainance our Nissan Urvans brand new at the time ( late 80s) were being pinged by the RTA due to excessive black smoke ( we had to knock the pumps back a bit) ... But more to the point how the f@rk where they legally sold in Australia in the first place
