Hi Fella's
Is there anyone out there that might have a KW maintenance manual that include six rod maintenance, the Rockwell / Six rod suspension I purchased for my restoration project on a K123 (my K123 originally had broom stick, someone in the past changed to Hendrickson, and before it breaks my back, I'm changing to KW Six Rod) this six rod originally came out of a T600, but I have to rebuild, would be great if I had some torque figures for U-Bolts etc, someone might have a manual that includes this suspension that could copy and maybe email to me, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Mate, I don't know if the Six Rod will be an improvement as it still operates on the same principle as the walking beam. If your Hendrickson is an RT, try upgrading it to an RTE with the third hanger and extended leaf springs. Still a bit rough, but a big improvement in the ride when your bobtail/lightly loaded.

One thing that might improve the Hendrickson ... back in the 90s we worked on quite a few LTS Ford tippers with Walking beams ... hey used to fit a small airbag in between the chassis and the spring pack just behind the central spring clamp used to take a fair bit of the bounce out of them when empty .... I did see one that replaced the rear hanger with an airbag and kept the springs etc ... that was certainly a lot smoother

You might Laugh at me because I'm different, I laugh at you because you're all the same

Here U go Gaz

If U B replace n the torque rod bushes.... the top torque rods (4 bushes) need to B the steel insert where the bolts gothrough the bush
and the alloy bushes are for the lower TRB
mark the flats on the bush on the TRB so U can press in the new ones in correct alignment
